Cropping tool on picture tool bar

I recently created a slide show in PP 2003 using the photo album options to

mass import pictures from a file to the slides. The transfer went great but

when I highlight one of these picture in the slide the cropping tool does not

become active for this picture. When I insert the same picture the more

conventional (and slower way) one at a time the cropping tool works fine.

Why does the cropping tool not work on pictures imported with the photo album

option? Thanks, Jerry

    • Because the Photo Album feature places the photos in an autoshape (rectangle) as

      a background, so it can no longer be manipulated as an image. If you use the

      Image Importer Wizard, you won't encounter this issue.
